Hey! So Glad You're Here.

I am Anubhav, and this little site relates to something which is extremely important to me and something I cannot imagine the world without: music. I find myself getting completely lost, immersed in music, each time when I pick up the guitar and play, or when I’m listening to an album at 3 am at night. It’s what keeps me going, and what I feel passionate about.

The genres I enjoy the most are classic rock and alternative rock, however, I find myself listening to a variety of genres, as long as the songwriters are not shallow, which I feel a lot of the newer artists are, and which the millennials seem to enjoy a lot. I feel music to be a means to express oneself, and it can be done beautifully. I very much prefer songs like Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car, which talks about her whole life, her struggles, about her family, beautifully in a few minutes in a single song.

Something I also love about music is that it is always open to interpretation, as is any work of art. Different people might find different meanings in the exact same lyrics, and they are all correct! Like Imagine Dragons lead Dan Reynolds says “I always like to keep art and music open to interpretation”.

The bands I grew up with include Linkin Park, Green Day, which a younger, rebellious me could relate to. To this day I enjoy their songs and love learning to play them. It was with Green Day’s American Idiot that I got introduced to concept albums. A concept album is an album in which the songs collectively tell a story, or pertain to a concept. Concept albums have since always fascinated me in their amazing ability to tell a story, especially when I love to listen to complete albums as a whole. Since then, I have had the pleasure of listening to a variety of different concept albums, ranging from the extremely popular Pink Floyd’s The Wall to the little-known Hospice by The Antlers.

I would like to focus this blog on presenting, analyzing, and breaking down my beloved concept albums. However, I feel that I might talk about albums which I adore in general.

I'm always up for a conversation. Hit me up!
